Lofty (the platform formerly known as Chime) and BrokerFold both call themselves all-in-one — CRM, website, marketing — and then diverge on almost everything that matters to a Canadian agent: market focus, pricing transparency, and what the AI is actually automating. This is the honest read of both, from their public materials and our own product.
What Lofty does well
Ambition, especially around automation. Lofty markets itself as an “agentic AI operating system”: a Sales Agent that captures, qualifies, and books appointments around the clock, a Homeowner Agent that hunts likely sellers inside your database, a Social Agent for content, and user-built custom agents for repetitive work. Underneath sits a full sales platform — CRM with unlimited contacts and lead scoring, IDX websites, power dialer, mass texting, automation workflows, and transaction management — plus multi-channel lead-generation programs spanning search ads, social, and direct mail. For a large US team that wants one vendor running the whole demand-to-appointment pipeline and is comfortable with negotiated pricing, it is a serious contender.
Who Lofty genuinely suits
High-volume US teams and brokerages with real ad budgets. The economics tell you the target customer: pricing is quote-based across its Agent, Team, Broker, and Enterprise packages, and the lead programs carry a 20% ad-management fee. If you have an ISA pod, a five-figure monthly ad budget, and want AI working the top of that funnel, you are who the product is built for — in its home market.
What BrokerFold does differently
BrokerFold is built for the Canadian board reality Lofty’s site does not mention. Canada is where our data plane lives: a direct TRREB feed running production sites today, VOW sold-price search with the compliance mechanics — registration click-wrap, blurred previews, password expiry — automated to each board’s rules, and a GVR tri-board layer built for the Vancouver market with production approval in progress. Consent is Canadian too: nurture runs on CASL-aware rails rather than US assumptions, a distinction we unpack on real estate CRM in Canada. The CRM is fed by the website natively — behaviour timelines, seat routing with claim and round-robin, Gmail sync, and visitor chat — and the whole platform is priced in public CAD: $89 to $999 monthly, Team with 5 seats and Brokerage with 12 included, extra seats $70/mo, and a 14-day trial with no card. Where Lofty sells AI breadth, we sell board-native depth; we would rather be honest that those are different products than pretend to match their agent roster feature-for-feature.

If you are evaluating both
Force symmetry onto the comparison, because the sales processes are asymmetric. Get Lofty’s number for your exact seat count and lead budget in writing, in your currency, with the term length attached — then put it beside a published price. Ask both vendors the Canadian questions from do US platforms work in Canada: which board feeds, whose compliance responsibility, what CASL handling. And weight the AI claims by what you will actually deploy — an autonomous social agent you never turn on is worth exactly zero. The right answer falls out of your funnel: US-style paid volume at scale points one way; owning your Canadian market’s search-and-sold destination points the other.
Frequently asked questions
Does Lofty work with Canadian MLS boards?
Their public site does not list Canadian board coverage — the materials reference US brokerages and US advertising channels. That is not proof it cannot be done, but it means the answer for your board is a sales conversation, not a published fact. Get the specific board, the feed type, and the compliance handling in writing before you sign.
How much does Lofty cost?
Pricing is on request. Their site names four packages — Agent, Team, Broker, and Enterprise — and states pricing varies by package, seat count, upgrades, and lead-gen programs. Lead-generation services carry a disclosed 20% ad-management fee. BrokerFold publishes its numbers: $89 to $999 CAD monthly, extra seats $70/mo.
Is Lofty the same company as Chime?
Yes — the platform formerly known as Chime rebranded to Lofty in 2023, per public reporting at the time. The product lineage is continuous.
