Abstract light streaks over data — the enterprise platform category kvCORE anchors

kvCORE spent years as the default answer to “what does an all-in-one real-estate platform look like,” and in summer 2024 its maker, Inside Real Estate, rebranded it as BoldTrail — one brand wrapping the former kvCORE alongside other products in their portfolio, from BoomTown lineage to back-office tooling. BrokerFold plays in the same “one system” category from a very different corner: Canadian board-native, published pricing, self-serve scale. Here is the honest comparison.

What kvCORE/BoldTrail does well

Breadth, front office to back. The BoldTrail platform spans IDX websites, a CRM, done-for-you lead generation, automated follow-up, AI features, and — new with the rebrand — back-office capability including commission tracking, reflecting the portfolio consolidation. For a brokerage that wants to standardize every agent onto one vendor and run recruiting, production, and payouts through connected tooling, that scope is the product. The rebrand also shipped a redesigned, more modern interface over the established kvCORE foundations, per the company’s own materials and industry coverage.

Who kvCORE/BoldTrail genuinely suits

Brokerages and large teams buying at the enterprise level — and agents whose brokerage already provides it, where the marginal cost to the agent is often zero. If your office hands you a configured BoldTrail seat, using it well beats shopping. As an individual purchase it is a negotiated sale: pricing is not published, and the public site’s path to a number runs through a demo. Negotiating against a sales process is fine if you go in with your configuration and term requirements written down.

What BrokerFold does differently

Transparency and Canadian depth over enterprise breadth. Our pricing is public — $89 to $999 CAD monthly, Team with 5 seats included, Brokerage with 12, extra seats $70/mo, 14-day free trial without a card, month to month. Our data plane is built for Canadian boards specifically: a direct TRREB feed running production sites, VOW sold-price search with per-board compliance automated (registration click-wrap, blurred previews for anonymous visitors, password expiry on the board’s schedule), and a GVR tri-board layer for the Vancouver market that is built with production approval in progress. The CRM is the website’s nervous system rather than a separate module: behaviour timelines from real on-site activity, routing with claim and round-robin, nurture on consent-aware rails, Gmail sync, and visitor chat. What we do not have is back-office and commission tooling — if that is on your requirements list, we are not the vendor, and the wider landscape is mapped on VOW websites in Canada.

If you are moving off kvCORE/BoldTrail

Start with your contract: negotiated agreements can carry terms and renewal dates that self-serve products do not, so know your exit window. Export contacts, notes, and deal history early, and confirm what the export actually contains before your access ends. If the site was brokerage-provisioned, assume the domain and its search equity may not travel — check before you build projections on them. Then re-paper your board access under the new vendor and stage the cutover with redirects. Frequently asked questions

Is kvCORE still a product I can buy?

The platform lives on under a new name. Inside Real Estate rebranded kvCORE as BoldTrail starting in summer 2024, folding it together with other products in their portfolio, and public reporting at the time described the core CRM and IDX website functionality as continuing. If your brokerage talks about kvCORE and a vendor demos BoldTrail, it is the same lineage.

What does BoldTrail cost?

Pricing is on request — the public site routes you to a demo to get numbers, and deals are negotiated. That is normal at the enterprise end of the market, but it means you should insist on your exact configuration, seat count, term length, and renewal terms in writing before comparing it against any published price.

My brokerage already provides kvCORE/BoldTrail. Should I still consider BrokerFold?

Maybe — the question is whose asset you are building. A brokerage-provided platform typically means the site and often the database configuration follow the brokerage, not you. Agents who want a personally-owned website, domain, and CRM sometimes run one alongside the brokerage tool. Check your brokerage agreement on data portability either way.
