BrokerFold and AgentLocator overlap on paper — both offer an IDX/VOW website and a CRM — but they are built around different bets. AgentLocator’s core motion is paid lead generation: they run advertising, capture registrants on a lead site, and hand you a CRM with a dialer to work the queue. BrokerFold’s core motion is the website as a compounding asset: your domain, full board search with VOW sold-price data, and a CRM that watches what visitors do on your own site. Deciding between them is really deciding which motion you want to fund.
What AgentLocator does well
AgentLocator is a Canadian operation (serving both Canada and the US) that has productized the buy-leads-and-dial workflow. Their public site lists a bundle — a lead-generation website, a branded IDX/VOW website, and their CRM — at $249/mo with a no-contract posture and a six-month money-back guarantee whose terms live on their site. The CRM is built for volume calling: dialer, SMS, automated campaigns, and a mobile app. They also sell managed advertising and SEO services, which matters if you want one vendor accountable for both the ad spend and the follow-up tooling. For an agent who wants a phone-ready pipeline without learning ad platforms, that is a coherent package.
Who AgentLocator genuinely suits
Agents and teams who treat internet leads as a numbers game and have the call discipline to work it. If you (or an ISA) will dial new registrants daily, want someone else running the campaigns, and judge the whole thing on cost per closed deal, the program model fits. It also suits agents who already have a main website elsewhere and want a separate lead-capture machine running beside it.
What BrokerFold does differently
BrokerFold starts from the asset, not the ad. Your site serves the full TRREB feed in production over a direct PropTx connection — minutes-fresh syncing, photos on our own CDN, and a completeness gate that keeps half-loaded listings invisible. Sold-price search is the lead engine: anonymous visitors hit a registration wall with blurred sold previews, and TRREB’s 90-day VOW password rules are enforced automatically. Every registration lands in the built-in CRM with a behaviour timeline — listings viewed, favourites, saved searches — plus routing to seats, claim and round-robin mechanics, nurture plans, Gmail sync, and visitor-to-agent chat. Pricing is published in CAD: plans from $89 to $999 monthly, a 14-day free trial with no credit card, and no annual contract. If you want managed advertising too, we offer it at 10% of ad budget with a $350/mo floor — landing pages and tracking ride the platform, and the fee math is public.

If you switch
Coming off a lead-gen program is mostly about custody. Export your database with notes and history first. Establish who owns the ad accounts and any domains the program ran — a lead site on a vendor domain does not move with you. Your VOW access is re-registered with the board under the new provider’s paperwork; budget days to a couple of weeks for approvals. And be honest about the funnel gap: paid lead flow stops the day the campaigns stop, so a lead-generation system built on your own site needs a running start before you cut over. The 14-day trial exists so you can stage that overlap without paying twice for long.
Frequently asked questions
Is AgentLocator cheaper than BrokerFold?
At the entry point, no — AgentLocator's listed bundle is $249/mo and BrokerFold's solo plan is $89 CAD/mo. But the bundles are not the same product: theirs includes managed lead-generation service, ours includes VOW sold-data search and a deeper CRM. Confirm with AgentLocator how ad spend is billed on top of the bundle, then compare total monthly cost against the results each motion produces.
Do both platforms handle TRREB VOW data?
Both advertise it. AgentLocator's site lists IDX/VOW websites including TREB VOW feeds. BrokerFold runs a direct PropTx feed over the AMPRE RESO Web API and automates the compliance mechanics — registration click-wrap, blurred sold previews for anonymous visitors, and the 90-day password expiry TRREB requires.
What should I check before leaving any lead-gen program?
Three things in writing: a full export of contacts, notes and activity history; who owns the ad accounts and the domains the program runs on; and whether any leads delivered during your term remain yours to work afterward. Get those answers before you cancel, not after.
