Setting up pipeline stages

The default stages, when to customize them, and common pitfalls.

BrokerFold ships with real-estate-tuned default stages: New → Qualified → Showing → Offer → Under Contract → Closed. For most solo agents, this is enough.

When to customize

  • Teams with explicit handoff stages — add a 'Handoff to buyer agent' between Qualified and Showing
  • Listings-focused agents — a separate pipeline with stages like Prospect → Pitch → Signed → Listed → Sold
  • Brokerages — per-agent pipelines that roll up into a brokerage-wide view

What to avoid

Fifteen-stage pipelines. If a stage doesn't change what you'd do next, it's not a stage — it's a filter.
